Each girl has her own personality and point of view, and reflects some aspect of ourselves back to us: Enid, age 9, is outgoing, with a great sense of humor; Hortense, age 11, is shy and likes to be alone; Bettina, age 14, is good-hearted but temperamental; Genevieve, age 16, is passionate about cooking and boxing. This, the first volume, is narrated by the youngest sister Enid. A free spirit, she enjoys wandering alone and talking to animals and anything she meets.
