"This is a special volume of Advances in Organometallic Chemistry on occasion of the 3rd International Symposium on Carbene and Nitrene Chemistry, chaired by Michael Doyle, Chi-Ming Che and Jianbo Wang and celebrated in San Antonio, Texas, in February 2020. Representative areas of research within this field are presented in this volume, where contributors participated as invited speakers at such forum. In Chapter 1, Schomaker provides an update on the advances regarding the transformations of carbene-generated ylide intermediates, focusing on ammonium, oxonium, and sulfonium ylides. Chapter 2 is devoted to gold-carbene chemistry where Borissou has reviewed the particular area of chelating ligands-containing compounds and their effect in the ligation to [Pi]-alkenes and alkynes. Chapter 3 focuses on nitrene chemistry, where Gallo provides an overview of imido derivatives of groups 8-10 relevant to transfer reactions. A final chapter, not related to the aforementioned Symposium, completes the volume: the recent developments on the chemistry of group 10 complexes bearing pincer ligands constitute the topic reviewed by Peng."--Preface (page ix) |
