Summary: "PASCOS 94 was held under the auspices of Syracuse University from May 19 to May 24, 1994. This international, interdisciplinary symposium on Particles, Strings and Cosmology was the fourth in the series initiated by Professor Pran Nath of the Northeastern University. The first two symposia were held on the campus of that university, and the third in Berkeley at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory held jointly with the Texas Symposium on Relativistic Astrophysics. The main goal of these symposia has been to provide a forum for stimulating discussions and exchange of ideas about current research in Particle physics, Strings and Cosmology. The speakers were requested to aim their presentations to a wider audience and provide a broader perspective so that it would be useful and engaging to workers outside the particular specialized subject. I hope the contents of these proceedings bear witness to that. I thank all the speakers for providing their papers for publication. My special thanks to L. Susskind for filling in for D. Gross who could not participate due to unavoidable circumstances. Susskind gave his own perspective on String theory, its present status and its future."--Preface.
